Senator of the City-State of Iacon, Proteus is well known as one of the leading members of the Cybertronian Senate, serving as temporary ruler of the planet since the unfortunate demise of Nominus Prime. While giving the appearance of being a staunch ally of justice and a fair-minded mech towards the growing Decepticon movement, in truth, Proteus is a hardline Functionist with dreams of keeping every mech and femme on the planet under an iron-fisted rule. He does not see the lower-castes of Cybertron even as sentient beings, but more unruly beasts that must be whipped into control.
History[]
Proteus has been the primary Senator of Iacon since before the time of Nominus Prime. Very comfortable with his favored position, he believes in the validity of Ratioism and is more than happy to make certain that everyone remains firmly within their place in society -- particularly because he benefits from functionism. The leader of an inner circle of Senators who arranged for the Decepticon Registration Act, the empurata and shadowplay of Senator Shockwave and the founding of the Institute, the blood trail behind Proteus stretches for miles. As Cybertron begins to unravel in the face of energon shortages and a weariness of the forced structures of their existence, Proteus has only quietly tightened his grip on the populace, awaiting the return of Nova Prime, and the day when 'All Are One'.
